Travel Warnings
The US Department of the State issues Travel Warnings for countries that have long-term, protracted conditions that makes a country dangerous or unstable. If they feel their ability to assist American citizens is constrained due to a closure of an embassy or consulate or due to the draw down of it’s staff they will issue a Travel Warning.
They have listed the countries below as meeting this criteria and advise travel to these areas be taken with caution if you can not wait for them to become stable again.
